Fostering
Did you know that when you foster for Tender Loving Crested Rescue, all medical expenses are paid for by the rescue? All you provide is food, grooming, and love. You treat your foster as you do your own pet. Fostering saves lives!
Unfortunately, fostering is limited to within a 4 hour drive from Houston, TX. We are a small rescue with limited funding. We are fortunate to work with local vet offices that help us with the cost of vet care. Consideration will be given if you are able to help with vet expenses. Keep in mind, we are a 501c3 charitable organization so any expenses for your foster is considered a tax deduction!

Transporting
We often need help transporting dogs from one location to another. Sometimes it’s a simple as taking a dog to the vet. Sometimes, it’s driving to another city to pick up a dog or deliver a dog to it’s new family. Transporting is a very rewarding experience and a great way to help if you can’t foster!
If you are able to help, please complete an application! You must be 21 or older, have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, automobile insurance and a cell phone to transport for Tender Loving Crested Rescue.

Application Processor
Applications Processor is just that – a person who processes adoption and volunteer applications. The processor reviews new applications, sends emails to the applicant, emails the references, and reviews vet records. Once those are completed, the processor schedules a home visit to be done by another volunteer. If the applicant is out of our area, the processor reviews pictures for the virtual home visit. Finally, the processor sends a recommendation to the Director who has final approval say.
This position is highly involved in placing dogs in their forever homes! It’s nearly all done by email with an occasional phone call.

Record Keeping
We always need help keeping up with records! We store information on dogs, volunteers, applications, adoptions, shelters, veterinary offices… the list goes on. Training will be provided on how to use our online database system.
All records are kept electronically so all you need is a computer, internet access and time!

Event Coordinator
The event coordinator coordinates events. How easy is that?!?! Events, often called Meet and Greets, are held at local area pet stores or other pet friendly locations. As an event coordinator, you organize the who, what, when, and where of the event(s).
At this time, we are doing the larger events in and around the Houston area. The event coordinator will assist in scheduling dogs and volunteers who attend events like the Houston Dog Show (July) and Paws in the Park Pearland (March).
